HypnoBirthing® - The Mongan Method provides you, the mum to be, with techniques that will enable you to experience a calm and comfortable childbirth.
The way birth is meant to be
These easily learned skills will free you from the fear and tension which prevent the muscles of the body from functioning in the way nature intended. During approximately 12 hours of HypnoBirthing® classes you will learn how to achieve relaxation which enables your birthing body to get on with its job without being hindered by negative conditioning of the mind, and resulting tension.
The act of birthing is natural and safe most of the time and the ability that HypnoBirthing® will give you in relaxing deeply will enable your mind, your body and your baby to work together in confidence and harmony in the way it was designed to.
Working with your body rather than against it
The philosophy behind HypnoBirthing® is that when you are fearful, stress hormones are released as the body prepares itself to fight, flee or freeze. In this state most of the blood and oxygen are diverted away fromparts of the body which are considered non-essential (such as the uterus) for immediate survival to the major organs and extremities. As a result the muscles tense up and start to work against each other and the body experiences pain (most athletes will have experienced the pain that results when lactic acid builds up and the blood flow fails to clear it).
Fear, the enemy of the birthing room
A 'fearful' and hence tense woman is less likely to have a straightforward birth experience because the fight or flight response (which is an overriding mechanism in the mind for survival) will take the fear to mean that it is unsafe to birth and the body will react accordingly. On the other hand, when a birthing woman is free of fear her muscles have plenty of oxygen and can remain in the relaxed state, essential for comfortable, straightforward and fearless birth.
Hi Nick I just wanted to drop you a quick note just to let you know that Emma gave birth to our son 'Eshan' on the 15th August. He weighed in at 8lb 40z. The birth went really well. I just wanted to thank you for the help you gave Emma and without a doubt it made a huge difference in helping her to cope with the delivery.
Once again thank you and kind regards to your family.

A really good course, really well delivered, good pace, excellent content and thoroughly enjoyed, thank you. Nicola Grace-Caswell (Peterborough)
I enjoyed learning the relaxation and how to bring me back on track if my breathing goes to pot again. I was also pleased to get rid of my fear of needles Mandi Hawson (Peterborough)
